Chevrolet’s long-awaited return to the mid-size truck segment has finally come to an end and the American automaker is looking to show it off. One of the first stops was at the 2014 SEMA Show in Las Vegas where it made an appearance wearing some striking new paint, special off road wheels, and towing a new Super Air Nautique 210 wakeboard boat.

As the North American roll out of the new Colorado continues, Chevrolet is aiming to showcase the versatility and capabilities for the mid-size truck for those looking to have an outdoor lifestyle. The new Colorado Concept at SEMA showcases the ability for the truck to tow, stow, and perform in a wide range of situations while wearing a brilliant orange paint and off road wheels alongside the Super Air Nautique 210 wakeboard boat, which has been redesigned and is powered by a ZR 450 engine by Pleasurecraft Marine Engine Group.

“You can’t own a lifestyle product like the Super Air Nautique without the assurance of a strong, confidence-inspiring truck to haul it to your favorite lake,” said John Fitzpatrick, senior marketing manager, Chevrolet trucks. “The Colorado rewrites the book for midsize trucks, delivering unprecedented performance and capability for people who need the versatility of a truck in a smaller package than a full-size pickup.”

Powering the Chevrolet Colorado’s off road wheels in either four- or two-wheel drive setups are the standard 2.5-liter inline-four cylinder engine with a 3,500-pound trailer rating and EPA estimated 27 highway MPG (2WD). The optional 3.6-liter V-6 with 305 horsepower and 269 lb-ft. of torque is not only more powerful than its competition but more efficient as well, achieving 26 highway MPG (2WD) while racking up a 7,000-pound maximum trailering rating.

The new SEMA Show’s Chevrolet Colorado wears a special custom orange metallic flake paint scheme that matches the 4,200-pound, 21-foot Super Air Nautique 210. The new Colorado also wears a set of special 18-inch Chevrolet accessory off road wheels with a powerful fat five-spoke design.

The Chevrolet Colorado will come with a number of innovative standard and optional features such as the new GearOn cargo management system, G80 automatic locking rear differential, EZ Lift-and-Lower tailgate, factory spray-on bedliner, and four-wheel disc brakes with Duralife brake rotors.

The new Chevrolet Colorado will start at $20,995 for the four-door extended cab models with the 2.5-liter engine and come standard with a two-year/24,000-mile scheduled maintenance program.
