The Land Cruiser 6×6.
You’ve probably heard of the Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6×6 monster of all-terrain motoring. It packs three axles with six off road wheels and tires, a beefed up suspension, and loads of technology along with a high-performance engine to allow it to go anywhere.
This isn’t your average Toyota Land Cruiser. Just like the big, bad, ‘Benz, it’s a three-axle terror with six off road wheels and tires made by a collaboration between NSV and Multi Drive Technology. The Frankenstein Land Cruiser can be had in single- or quad-cab configurations with a customized payload box as an option and will likely cost a pretty penny.
Seen here in action, the Land Cruiser features a heavy duty front coil spring setup while the rear uses an ultra duty leaf spring design. These allow the six off road wheels and tires more than enough room to move over rough terrain.
Powering the massive Toyota Land Cruiser is a standard 4.0-liter supercharged V-6 gasoline engine. A total of 398 horsepower at 5,500 RPM and 494 lb-ft. of torque through a standard five-speed manual gearbox with dual range. As an option, customers can choose an automatic gearbox and/or a 4.5-liter turbodiesel V-8 engine to drive all six off road wheels and tires.
The modified Toyota Land Cruiser is pretty hefty as well, tipping the scales at 12,676 lbs., although it does have a 6,600-lb. payload.
