Watch this F-450 Put its Rims and Tires to the Drift Test!

Ford F-450 Dually Drift Rims and Tires

Winter can still be fun!

Big, dually trucks are designed to get work done. They haul, they tow, and they move massive amounts of payload. But do they drift? That’s a question that Rally Champion Tim O’Neil, asked and decided to test out, so he took his Ford F-450 dually and it’s six rims and tires out in the snow to find out.

The Ford F-450 dually is in no way, shape, or form designed to drift. It’s built to keep that wide rear end stable and straight, even when those rear rims and tires somehow manage to lose grip.

So, O’Neil sat in the driver’s seat and started to adjust the driving options electronically such as traction control to make sure those rear rims and tires kick out.

Thanks to the heavy snow that was packed in the path, O’Neil was able to come in hot and slide sideways. While it probably wouldn’t have been possible on pavement due to the grip generated by the rear rims and tires on that wide axle, it was still fun to see the big truck tear it up in the snow.
