After making its global debut at the 2015 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Nissan quickly took its all-new 2016 Titan XD to the Shoot Hunting and Outdoor Trade (SHOT) Show in Las Vegas to showcase the new turbodiesel truck with off road rims and tires to outdoor enthusiasts from around the country. The Sands Expo Center will showcase the SolarFlare Yellow 2016 Nissan Titan XD PRO-4X for the new few days for attendees to view.
“Toughness, capability and quality are attributes the new TITAN delivers on,” said TITAN Chief Product Specialist Rich Miller. “I was raised with trucks, and anything short of that simply won’t work out on the trail or jobsite. The new TITAN is as rugged as they come.”
The ‘XD’ on the Nissan Titan XD nameplate can be considered the emoji that people will use when they find out that a new Cummins 5.0-liter turbodiesel V-8 engine is hiding beneath the hood of the all-new truck. The new engine was developed to deliver maximum power and torque characteristics and ensure all four of the off road rims and tires never get stuck in any situation. A total of 310 horsepower and a meaty 555 lb-ft. of torque are produced and instantly put it right in the head of the pack with trucks.
The all-new Nissan Titan XD was designed to be rugged and extremely capable from the job site to outdoor adventures. A maximum payload of 2,000 pounds and towing capacity of 12,000 pounds (when properly equipped) give it the abilities of heavier duty trucks with the fuel economy and efficiency of smaller, half-ton pickups.
Aside from the strong off road rims and tires, a number of innovative standard features are also showcased throughout the Nissan Titan XD. Special LED Bed Rail Lighting, lockable in-bed storage, tailgate illumination, spray-on bedliner, and a two-way tailgate assist makes hauling around equipment, loading, and unloading easier than ever before.
In terms of technology, the Nissan Titan XD will set itself apart with all sorts of features that make driving and towing easier. A special RearView Monitor with Trailer Guides, Around View Monitor (AVM) with Moving Object Detection (MOD) help guide truck and trailer for the driver. An innovative Trailer Light Check system allows a single person (driver) to confirm that all of the exterior lighting works for safe hauling with the trailing. A new gooseneck hitch is also built into the frame of the truck, allowing for better towing as well.
The new Nissan Titan XD with its Cummins engine, innovative features, and off road rims and tires will be offered in a number of cab configurations. Other gasoline engine choices will also be available for the 2016 model-year truck.
