More sport for the four-door German coupe.
The Porsche Panamera invokes quite a varying degree of opinions in the automotive world, especially when it comes to its styling. Just like the Cayenne before it, Porsche purists have moaned and groaned about the fact that the German automaker is making a four-door vehicle. The profits and sales, however, are just too big to ignore. But, with a little aftermarket know-how with some new suspension bits and Niche Essen wheels, the Porsche Panamera can turn into a sporty show-stopper.
The team at Vivid Racing in Gibert, Arizona took one Porsche Panamera to the next level with a new fitment featuring a set of Niche Essen wheels. The rear-wheel drive, Porsche Panamera utilizes a 3.6-liter V-6 engine with 310 bhp at 6,200 RPM and 295 lb-ft. of torque at 3,750 RPM to give it plenty of “oomph” on the road. To complement this, Vivid Racing focused on the fitment.
To start things off, the factory rim and tire setup was removed and on went a new set of Niche Essen wheels. The new Essen M147 rims feature a cast, one-piece construction with ten spokes that extend outwards to create a concave design. A special no-lip look is also featured to set it apart from the pack. For the Porsche Panamera, Vivid Racing installed the matte black Niche Essen wheels in a 21 x 9.0 front and 21 x 10.5 rear setup with 265/30 R21 and 295/30 R21 Michelin Pilot Super Sports tires for added grip.
The more powerful and muscular wheel fitment was then finished off with the addition of a new suspension. Vivid Racing decided to go with a set of KW coilovers that dramatically reduce the ride height for a better center of gravity. This emphasizes the new Niche Essen M147 rims and their +45 offset at all four corners to create a more commanding presence.
The Porsche Panamera may still be a polarizing vehicle, but it definitely changed a few minds with this fitment.
