What really put the Jeep brand on the map was their performance in military applications around the globe. This was the foundation for the brand’s heritage and something that they are proud of to this day. At the 50th Annual Easter Jeep Safari the brand unveiled the Crew Chief 715 concept that pays homage to its past with a classic color, tough all-terrain upgrades, Jeep Wrangler wheels, and more.

The new Jeep Crew Chief 715 joins six other concepts that were built by a team of engineers, designers, and fabricators that have been creating special builds since 2002. The new concept will see its Jeep Wrangler wheels conquering the tough trails of Moab, Utah during the 2016 Easter Jeep Safari.

The new Crew Chief 715 concept SUV pays tribute to the military Jeeps of the past that gave troops a leg up on the enemy with their reliability and off road abilities, specifically the Kaiser M175. The open-air Crew Chief 715 concept features a five-foot cargo bed and a utilitarian design, based on a Wrangler Unlimited.

The exterior is dominated with a Tactical Green paint with steel front and rear bumpers, both of which utilize a Jeep Performance Parts winch. The new front fascia mirrors the design of the classic Kaiser M175 and does not feature the iconic Jeep grille. New Jeep Performance Parts rock rails sit between the front and rear Jeep Wrangler wheels as well.

Underneath the bodywork of the Crew Chief 715 concept is a new set of Jeep Performance Parts/Fox 2.0 remote reservoir shocks, a 4.0-inch lift kit, and Dana 60 front and rear axles. Special 20-inch beadlock Jeep Wrangler wheels are shod in meaty 40-inch NDT military tires to overcome any obstacle in their way.

Powering the Jeep Crew Chief 715 concept is the 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine benefitting from a new cold air intake and modified exhaust. A five-speed automatic gearbox ensures all that power properly flows to both axles.

Inside, the Crew Chief 715 concept features a minimalistic design with leather bucket seats and canvas inserts. Special aircraft-inspired control switches, MOPAR floor mats, and a navigational compass in the dashboard lend to a functional, purposeful cockpit.

The new Jeep Crew Chief 715 concept will unfortunately stay a concept and not be put in production by the American automaker. It will be driving through Moab for the 50th Annual Easter Jeep Safari.
