Taking off-roading to the next level.

In the world of SUVs and trucks, those that can conquer any kind of terrain reign king. With many vehicles on the road ditching their muscular off-roading roots for fuel efficient crossover platforms, this ability to drive through anything is becoming a lost art form. But one 2009 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon is still smashing through anything in its path with its KMC XD Series Addict wheels and Nitto Mud Grappler tires along with a number of hardcore all-terrain suspension and engine modifications.

Right from the factory, the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon is an extremely proficient and capable off roader. One owner however wanted to get even more out of his SUV so he modified with a range of accessories. Starting off with the engine, a new PowerAid throttle body spacer, AirRaid cold air intake, and Gibson cat-back dual exhaust system with matte black finish were all installed to ensure more power was transmitted to all four KMC XD Series Addict wheels and their grippy Nitto Mud Grappler tires.

Just like with most off-road vehicles, a great deal of attention was paid to the suspension, chassis, and drivetrain. A one-inch Daystar body lift system and six-inch TeraFlex Elite Long Arm Suspension System were paired up with 1.75-inch Daystar coil spacers at the front and rear axles to ensure proper clearance and ride. To strengthen the drivetrain, new RCV Performance CV Axles with 4340 32 spline outer/30 spline inner chromoly axle shafts were installed alongside TeraFlex front and rear drive shaft and TeraFlex HD Dana 44 front/rear differential covers that were powdercoated red. Youkon 5.13 gears at the front and rear with anodized red 10 Factory Dana 44 front axle seals ensure maximum performance.

To achieve maximum grip through the mud, dirt, rock, and whatever else could be thrown at it, the Jeep Wrangler was given an all-new wheel and tire fitment. The owner opted to go with a set of 20 x 9.0 KMC XD Series Addict wheels with a matte black finish and 40×15.50R20 Nitto Mud Grappler tires with a single matching spare at the rear, just in case of a puncture.

With the chassis and engine set up for performance, a number of exterior details were then installed to finish things off. A new Hurculiner spray-in bedliner HID headlights, fender flares, front winch bumper, and more were installed to make it the perfect off-road machine.
