More fun stuff for an already fun car!
The Scion FR-S flies under the radar as a very fun and capable sports car that’s relatively affordable. The new 2016 Scion FR-S Release Series 2.0 will offer an even better overall package from new car rims to a refined interior for more fun.
“The FR-S is well known for being a fabulous sports car, and now we’re taking it up a notch in the luxury arena,” said Scion Vice President Andrew Gilleland. “It’s the perfect car to take from the race track during the day to the red carpet that evening.”
The exterior of the new 2016 Scion FR-S Release Series 2.0 will feature a special Lunar Storm paint that is unlike the colors offered to the standard models. New 17-inch diameter car rims made from lightweight forged aluminum alloy will help to keep weight to a minimum for better overall performance while also providing some color contrast. As an added athletic touch besides the new car rims, the sports car will also wear a unique aerodynamics kit with front lip and trunk spoilers for more downforce.
Inside, premium features and luxury is the name of the game for the 2016 Scion FR-S Release Series 2.0. New black heated alcantara seats with leather and camel-colored accents add a high-end look. The black and camel color scheme is also seen with the leather-trimmed steering wheel. Black leather is worn by the shift knob and parking brake lever while camel is featured on the door arm rests and upper door trim, Camel stitching is also used to provide some contrast to the black and alcantara throughout the interior. As a special touch, a dashboard insert with the Release Series badge will have an individual number from 1 to 1,000.
Sending the power of the flat-four-cylinder to each of the new 17-inch rear car rims in the 2016 Scion FR-S Release Series 2.0 is a choice of six-speed manual or six-speed automatic gearbox with paddle shifters and Dynamic Rev Management. Models with the manual will carry an MSRP of $29,510 while the automatic models will be $30,610.
