The Ford Explorer isn’t exactly an SUV that you’ll see modified to the nines, but this bad boy for SEMA is locked and loaded. New vibrant yellow paint, car rims, and a bumping sound system makes this Explorer seen and heard.
The Ford Explorer Sport isn’t a slouch in stock form with a mighty 3.5-liter, twin-turbocharged V-6 pumping out the power. However, a few extra horses couldn’t hurt. The V-6 was equipped with a new Airaid cold air intake system and a Flowmaster exhaust with new mufflers and tailpipes. Not only does this send more power to the car rims, but it also lets out a more prominent note.
Visually, this Ford Explorer Sport is unlike anything else on the market. A full PPG Inca Gold paint scheme with red and white stripes covers the entire exterior. Even the tires on the new car rims match the paint scheme. Dark 3M window tint keeps eyes out of the interior. Up front a new Dominator Street Rods custom front air dam and push bar gives the SUV a more aggressive look.
Making the design of the Ford Explorer Sport really pop are new car rims. The factory wheel and tire setup was replaced with new 20-inch B-Forged 530 Modular wheels. Strapped on those custom wheels are new Nitto tires measuring 275/55 R20 and wearing special red-lined sidewalls to match the color scheme.
Also improving the stance of the SUV are new Eibach lowering springs that reduce the ride height for a more car-like quality. This is paired up with new Baer six-piston brake calipers painted in a matching yellow color.
Inside, drivers and passengers will benefit from soft Katzkin seat covers with headrests that have been custom embroidered. Entertainment will come in the form of music blasting out of the Kicker speakers and amplifiers.
This Inca Gold Ford Explorer Sport will make its global debut at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas.
