If you lived up in Canada during the 1990s and early 2000s then you’ve probably watched ‘The Red Green Show’ or at least heard of the CBC and PBS television show. The show starred handyman, Red Green, and his crazy life up in Northern Ontario. Here, he’s teaching us how to do a fake burnout with your set of cheap rims without going through tires.

Red Green was a master of quick fixes and shortcuts, arming himself with duct tape, vice grips, and other basic tools to get the job done. His whacky fixes and solutions to everyday problems were part of his comedy and charm with his backwoods, Canadian quirkiness.

Of course, Green, like any guy at the time, loved his cars and racing. He also loved his burnouts, but doing so with a beat up Ram van and cheap rims isn’t exactly easy.

But, of course, Green had a solution that would save his tires, cheap rims, and his van.

The rusty Ram van has its share of issues from the brakes being shot to the body falling apart, and even the windows barely working. So instead of doing a real burnout, Green worked out a way to do a fake one.

Green hooked up a fire extinguisher to the inside cabin with the hose leading out of the rear wheel well. The brakes barely work, so he is able to step on them and still roll forward. Plus, the brake lights are out, so nobody knows this is a fake burnout. The result is white smoke pouring out around the cheap rims in what looks like a sick burnout from afar.

That’s some redneck Canadian ingenuity right there!
