Herp de Derp, the SHERP got Stuck!

SHERP Stuck in the Mud

Those wheels and tires are no match for Texas mud!

You’ve seen the SHERP before. It’s the little 4×4 monster with gigantic wheels and tires that can essentially go anywhere and do anything (except fly). Water, inclines, sand, mud, gravel, and everything in between is no match for the Russian-built SHERP. Well, that is, except for some good ol’ Texas mud and clay.

The “Ultimate ATV” ran into a thick bout of trouble while off-roading down in Texas. Here, when the clay turns to mud, it is virtually an unstoppable mix of terrain and the SHERP found that out firsthand.

SHERP Stuck in the Mud

A group of off-road enthusiasts armed with ATVs and the SHERP decided to have a bit of fun in some mud. The group put the SHERP right into a pit of muddy clay that reached halfway up its 60-inch wheels and tires.

After a long bit of work, the SHERP was able to inch its way forwards very, very slowly. The tiny 1.5-liter Kubota diesel engine kept those wheels and tires spinning to virtually no avail. When the team decided that it just didn’t have the patience to wait for it to inch slowly towards the end, they strapped it to a winch on an ATV and pulled it out.

The SHERP ATV is still one of the most unstoppable off-road vehicles out there. This thick Texas clay would’ve eaten any kind of vehicle that dared to trek through it without mercy.
