Diesel POWA!!
The big, heavy-duty diesel trucks are the top dogs in the trucking game. Their powerful, torque-filled engines churn out all the power you need to tow, stow, and haul the heaviest of payloads. They’re built to handle all sorts of hell and not complain. These oil-burning monsters are some of the best in the industry and they have the resumes to back it all up. While these trucks are designed to work, they can also perform too when they’re given a few upgrades and modified properly. This 2000 Ford F-350 is the perfect example with its lifted suspension, Rockstar Wheels, off-road tires, and tuned turbodiesel engine.
The big-displacement 7.3-liter turbodiesel V-8 engine packed under the hood has the job of driving all four Rockstar wheels on this bad Ford F-350 and it does so with ease thanks to its 285 horsepower and 500 lb-ft. of torque at 1,800 output from the factory. But that wasn’t enough. Those figures were sent upwards thanks to a new Power Hungry Performance FU chip that optimizes a number of aspects for the turbodiesel, a new pyro-boost gauge setup, and Zoodad intake modification for better airflow. A 4.0-inch turbo-back exhaust with muffler delete ensures better spool time and a loud presence for the massive truck.
The added power was a welcome addition as were the new Rockstar wheels, lifted suspension, and Toyo off road tires. The factory wheels were swapped out in exchange for a set of five-spoke wheels that have a more dynamic and powerful design. The new 20-inch Rockstar wheels were also fitted with a set of Toyo M/T tires whose beefy proportions break the tape measures with their 37-inch mass. Adding to the overall off-road performance setup is a new 6.0-inch lift and Bilstein 5150 shocks that allows the big Ford F-350 to overcome any obstacles without much of a hassle.
While the off-road setup and more powerful engine may steal most of the show, new interior and exterior modifications do their job to grab attention as well. An Alpine touchscreen DVD system, backup camera, and sound system provides more entertainment for the interior passengers. Smoked taillights, a billet grille from a 2005 model, and smoked headlights work their magic by subtly adding a more powerful presence.
From the new Rockstar wheels to the smoked headlights and engine tuning, this Ford F-350 is ready to roll in more ways than one.
