Watch Vaughn Gittin Jr. Smoke his Rims and Tires for Days

Drifting the Formula 1 Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

Getting a rear-wheel drive car and pressing the throttle to vault yourself into a drift is incredibly exhilarating. The rear rims and tires spin so fast that they cannot get traction and the vehicle goes into a semi-controlled state right on the edge of chaos.

It’s brilliant fun and Vaughn Gittin Jr. agrees wholeheartedly. His new video, “Forever Drift” with his Monster Energy Nitto Tire Ford Mustang RTR Spec 5-D shows just that. Instead of driving like everyone else at the famed Formula 1 Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in Spain, he decided to turn his rims and tires into smoke.

At first Vaughn Gittin Jr.’s goal was to take his force-fed muscle car out and drift the entire 1,600-feet of Turn 3 on the track. Instead, his rims and tires created a smoke cloud that lasted the full Turn 3 plus the 1,600-feet of Turn 4, creating an insane 3,200-foot cloud of smoke!

The crazy stunt was captured on video from the air, along the side of the track, and in-car. The high-powered V-8 muscle car spun its rims and tires at speed while Gittin Jr. was able to keep control around the difficult corners and change direction.

The resulting video is a symphony of pure power and brutality on a Formula 1 track.
