This 9-Year-Old can Shred Rims and Tires Better than You

On his first try.

Some of us were lucky as kids, getting to experience all kinds of motor- and automotive-related fun from our family and friends, gaining great experience and knowledge in the process. Others, well, weren’t as lucky but still share the same passion for cars like us. One of the biggest and best experiences can be shredding your first set of rims and tires by drifting – as this nine-year-old found out.

Thanks to the help of the Hoonigans, this lucky nine-year-old was given the opportunity not learn how to drive a car with a manual transmission and how to drift and shred rear rims and tires.

The weapon of choice was the “Shark Kart” – a Mazda MX-5 that has been modified to the gills and seen its entire body removed along with a great deal of other parts to cut weight down to a minimum. This bad boy is a drift king and isn’t afraid to shred some rims and tires.

First off, this kid got a quick lesson in driving a manual transmission. Minutes later, it was time to drift!

And drift, this kid did! With both hands on the wheel and his foot on the floor, the rear end of the “Shark Kart” spun sideways and the rear rims and tires made quite a bit of smoke in the pavement.

This nine-year-old did better than most of us would have at his age.
