…and a host of other standard features!
Up until now, only two models in the Porsche lineup have enjoyed being distinguished as wearing the Black Edition label – the 911 Carrera and Boxster. Now, the Cayman is joining its siblings with the new Black Edition model that offers a host of standard features from new rims and tires to a black on black theme and upgraded amenities.
The classic black on black color scheme of the Black Edition is again a feature on the new Porsche Cayman model from the rims and tires to the interior. As standard, the Porsche Cayman Black Edition wears a smooth black paint while customers can opt for the shimmering Jet Black Metallic as well.
The exterior also plays home to a host of upgraded standard features. The Porsche Cayman Black Edition stares ahead with Bi-Xenon headlights with PDLS (Porsche Dynamic Light System). A new set of 20-inch Carrera rims and tires replace the original Cayman units and give the sports car a more dynamic character.
While it may not be the more powerful S model, the Porsche Cayman Black Edition is powered by a healthy 2.7-liter flat-six engine. The naturally-aspirated power plant sends a stout 275 horsepower to each of the rear rims and tires for some exciting acceleration.
Inside, customers will be treated to added luxury and technology. Two-zone climate control, heated seats, auto-dimming rear view mirrors, and the Porsche crest embossed in the head rests come standard, while elevating the level of affluence. A Sport Design steering wheel gives drivers greater control for the mid-engined sports car. Even the upgraded Sound Package Plus, Park Assist, and door sill guards with the Black Edition logo come standard.
The new Porsche Cayman Black Edition joins the Boxster and 911 Carrera with its dark paint and new rims and tires. The special model will be available from January 2016 with an MSRP of $59,200.
