It’s all about the view.

Going off-road in a Jeep is part of the appeal and the brand has taken that to a new level with their new Jeep Safari concept. Unveiled at the 2017 Easter Jeep Safari in Moab, Utah, the new SUV concept has an innovative design that makes exploring fun for everyone with its new doors, interior, drone, and truck wheels.

Based on the Wrangler, the Jeep Safari concept is made to give passengers a front row view of the outdoors. The hard-top panel is translucent and incorporates a two-level aluminum cargo rack with a drone. The drone allows occupants another way to go and explore during their expedition to places where these beefy truck wheels just cannot reach.

The Jeep Safari concept looks considerably different from the Wrangler that it is based on thanks to a raked windshield, broadsided rocker panels, and new LED headlights, taillights, and turn signals/parking lights. Special “windoors” were developed for the concept SUV and are made out of aluminum and clear vinyl. The transparent doors that sit between the truck wheels have special hinges that allow them to open like a cabinet and also incorporate zipper openings for hot days.

Inside, the Jeep Safari concept has had both of the rear seats rotated outwards to give rear passengers a better view during excursions. A new instrument panel-mounted iPad adds to the high-tech look and feel of the SUV.

Numerous Jeep Performance Parts are featured on the Safari concept as well to make off-road driving a bit easier. Front and rear Dana 44 axles with selectable differential lockers help with power distribution. Overall the body length was cut down to make the SUV a bit more nimble across rough terrain. New custom full-length skid plates, steel front and rear bumpers, and an integrated on-board air system make any kind of terrain conquerable.

Additionally, the Jeep Safari concept boasts new 18-inch custom truck wheels wearing 35-inch BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain KM2 tires. Behind this wheel and tire combo sits upgraded brakes and a 2.0-inch lift kit.

Powering the Jeep Safari concept is a 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine equipped with a cold air intake. A five-speed automatic gearbox is also used.

The new Jeep Safari concept likely won’t ever make it to production but many of the featured parts may make their way to the market as optional features.
