How to celebrate a racing victory.
Katherine Legge loves donuts. She also loves winning races in the Acura NSX GT3 that she drives in the 017 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship series. So, when she gets a victory under her belt, she likes to celebrate with some donuts and rip apart those rims and tires!
At the 2017 Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix, Legge and co-pilot, Andy Lally, raced the Michael Shank Racing Acura NSX GT3 to a first place class victory. The only problem for her was that Lally was behind the wheel when the car crossed the finish line, not allowing her to do celebratory burnouts and churn through those rims and tires.
So, shortly afterwards, she teamed up with Donut Media, who put her behind the wheel of a street-legal Acura NSX. This car is a bit different than the race car as it boasts a 3.5-liter, twin-turbocharged V-6 producing 500 bhp and a set of three electric motors that push output to a total of 581 bhp. That power reaches all four rims and tires through a nine-speed dual-clutch transmission, making it more than capable of doing donuts.
So, after finally getting some seat time after her class victory, Legge put the pedal to the metal and lit those rims and tires up for some serious smoke-filled burnouts and donuts.
