It’s Turbo Time!
For many years, the 911 Turbo was the top dog in the Porsche 911 model lineup. That changed when people began to want more and Porsche was more than happy to comply with the demand. Out came the Porsche 911 Turbo S. The more powerful version of the Turbo comes with a few extra goodies, but the most important part is the added power. This formula has continued to the 991-generation model and this 2013 Porsche 911 Turbo S from AutoKicks NY boasts even more goodies starting with the Niche Wheels.
Powering the Porsche 911 Turbo S is the same engine as the one found in the standard Turbo model, albeit with a different tune. In Turbo S form, the 3.8-liter flat-six cylinder engine with two turbochargers sends a total of 552 bhp at 6,500 RPM and 516 lb-ft. of torque at 2,100 RPM (up to 553 lb-ft. with overboost function) to each of the four Niche Wheels. That makes for some mind-blowing acceleration figures and white knuckles.
With all that power going to all four rims, it was only necessary that upgrades be made to help boost traction even further. A new set of Niche Wheels was in order and are more than ready to grab at the asphalt.
The factory rims were swapped out for a new set of Niche Monotec T61 Misano forged monoblock wheels. The five split-spoke design of the Niche Wheels lend to a more athletic stance without looking overly flashy or gaudy. Up front, the Niche Monotec T61 Misano forged rims were installed in a 19 x 8.5 fitment while the rear comes in with a wide 19 x 11.0 setup. The glossy black finished rims were also equipped with 235/35 ZR19 and 305/30 ZR19 Michelin Pilot Super Sports tires, respectively to ensure traction is never lost.
After that, things were kept stock on this Porsche 911 Turbo S. Why? Well, because 552 bhp is more than enough reason to keep things stock and put a big grin on your face!
