It wasn’t too long ago that the Jeep brand under the Chrysler umbrella was looking at a very uncertain future. Thanks to some help, the brand was able to survive and now things are trending upwards for the iconic American automaker. The 8th decade of the brand is more and more promising with sales looking up and new models being sold. It’s simply a good time to be a Jeep owner and have those wheels and tires on the trails.
Since the first Jeep models pushed their wheels and tires through dirt, mud, sand, water, and more on the battlefields of World War II, the “go anywhere and do anything” character has stuck and it is evident with the new lineup of Jeep models for 2016. Adventure, freedom, authenticity, and passion are all hallmarks of the brand and its vehicles.
What’s also impressive for the Jeep brand is that 2014 marked the third consecutive all-time global sales record with 1,017,109 units sold, beating out 731,565 in 2013 and 710,626 in 2012. Last year also was the fifth consecutive year of an increase of sales in both the US and globally.
Jeep is looking to build on that momentum with their range of vehicle for 2016. The Jeep Cherokee and its Trail Rated 4×4 system offers superb fuel economy as well as custom options from wheels and tires to accessories. The Compass with its excellent fuel economy helps to raise the bar for the rest of the models in the lineup.
The impressive Jeep Grand Cherokee carries on the distinction of being the most awarded SUV ever with its superb on- and off-road capabilities with luxurious features. It’s high-performance sibling, the Grand Cherokee SRT pounds the pavement with its wheels and tires and throws down a 4.8-second 0-60 mph time along with 160 mph top speed and mid-13-seond quarter-mile time.
The Patriot offers up excellent 4×4 fuel economy and is one of the best-priced SUVs in America. It’s joined by the newest model in the lineup, the Renegade, as the most capable small SUV on the market with over 30 mpg.
The iconic Wrangler still makes its presence felt and received a newly-updated interior along with an available body-colored hard-top. Its four-door sibling, the Wrangler Unlimited continues to be the only convertible SUV on the market with room for five adults.
The future is bright for the Jeep brand and the automaker hopes to continue its trail-blazing spirit around the globe.
