Turbo fun time!
One of the under the radar sports cars is the Hyundai Genesis Coupe. The fact that it’s a Hyundai has kept it from really hitting home with the enthusiast crowd, but over the years its popularity has grown due to its capabilities. The second-generation models such as this white model packed with a turbocharged engine and new Niche Wheels is quickly becoming a respectable car on the streets.
This Hyundai Genesis 2.0T R-Spec is impressive. Right from the factory, its 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four cylinder engine sends a healthy 271 horsepower at 6,000 RPM and 275 lb-ft. of torque from 2,000 to 4,500 RPM to each of the rear Niche Wheels. While that’s not a figure that will blow your doors off, it’s a very respectable and fun output. That’s also available with a manual gearbox as well for even more good times.
The R-Spec models also come with a few goodies (or a few less) that cut weight and make for a more engaging drive. A new track-tuned suspension works with the Niche Wheels and Brembo brakes to make driving through the curves even more enjoyable. A new limited-slip differential also allows for more traction for the turbocharged engine.
This 2014 Hyundai Genesis Coupe R-Spec 2.0T might be riding on the stock suspension, but it still looks perfect with a new set of Niche Wheels. The factory setup was removed and replaced with a new set of Niche Targa M130 rims that measure a large 19 x 8.5 up front and 19 x 10.0 +25 at the rear. The black-finished wheels also feature special hardware that adds an eye-catching contrast to the new fitment.
The Genesis Coupe might still be overshadowed by sports cars that have a lengthier pedigree, but models like this are quickly gaining respect.
