Jeep Wrangler Testing Tires and Wheels

Get ready for the new Wrangler!

Engineers are already working hard on the next generation of Jeep Wrangler. The iconic SUV is expected to be all new from the tires and wheels all the way up to the various tops. While many SUVs are turning into crossover vehicles and losing their capability, the new Jeep Wrangler looks to keep true to its roots, and we’re very happy to see that.

At the Silver Lake Sand Dunes in Michigan, one passerby witnessed the Jeep team of engineers putting the new Wrangler through some off road testing. The sandy hills are right in the company’s back yard and provide the perfect place to test out the tires and wheels along with the four wheel drive system, suspension, and electronics.

As we can see here, the heavily camouflaged SUV wears some basic tires and wheels and retains its classic boxy shape. Now, with that being said, it is a prototype vehicle, so the body may not even be close to what the vehicle is set to become when it’s finally unveiled. The team could just be testing its powertrain to see how it performs in sand.

The new Jeep Wrangler is expected to have more efficient powertrains that provide better performance while improving fuel economy and emissions. The rugged suspension, tires and wheels is expected to be retained as is the classic styling and shape while pushing towards the future.

There’s still quite a bit of time before the new model is finally unveiled, but these videos give us a good glimpse at what to expect a bit.
