A perfect Mother’s Day present.

Teddy Bridgewater was one of the most hyped and talented quarterbacks coming into the 2014 NFL Draft. His college career at Louisville was impressive and helped him to become a sought-after athlete for NFL teams. One promise that he made his mother, Rose Murphy, as a child was that he would one day buy her a pink Cadillac Escalade.

And right before he was drafted into the NFL, he bought her a bright pink Cadillac Escalade with pink custom wheels. Murphy, a breast cancer survivor, was overwhelmed and grateful for the new luxury SUV.

“When I was in third grade, I promised my mom I would get her a pink Cadillac Escalade,” Bridgewater said. “Pink is the color that represents breast cancer awareness, so I just want to get her that big pink Escalade truck and see that big smile on her face.”

The whole story of the Pink Cadillac Escalade and its custom wheels in pink and aluminum was documented by famous filmmaker, Spike Lee.

“First class all the way,” said Lee. “First class Mom, son, athlete, production and sponsor. I couldn’t be prouder to have helped Teddy live out his dream of giving his mother, Rose, her pink Escalade. I wish him all the success, on and off the field, as he goes into this next phase of his life.”

Murphy was an inspiration for Teddy and his three siblings along with his football teammates and friends. Her battle with cancer helped to inspire them on and off the playing field.

Before the two went to New York City for the NFL Draft, Teddy contacted Cadillac and arranged to have a special pink Escalade built just for his mother. The special shade of pink was selected by the quarterback and painted on the entire body along with the custom wheels to create a special, one-of-a-kind luxury SUV for the inspirational breast cancer survivor.

The extremely happy and excited Murphy wasn’t finished receiving surprises yet. Later that day her and her pink Cadillac Escalade with custom wheels made an appearance on Good Morning America with Michael Strahan. To top it all off, her son was selected 32nd, overall by the Minnesota Vikings and will start his professional football career.
