Having fun in the wilderness
You’ve probably never heard of the Subaru Justy. It’s a mean little tank built for all sorts of all terrain fun when properly equipped. The four wheel drive versions didn’t even need off road wheels to do some damage in the snow, mud, and dirt.
Believe it or not, but the production of the Justy lasted from 1984 until 2010. That’s a seriously long run for a subcompact hatchback that hasn’t been updated. If you were lucky to get the bigger 1.2-liter motor in the Justy, you could swim through the gears with 80 metric horsepower reaching all four of the off road wheels. That’s not a lot in the least bit, but it makes for a peppy, fun little monster.
Just ask these guys who take a modified Subaru Justy out for some fun in the Russian wilderness. Packed with some serious off road wheels, a lifted suspension, and a modified engine, it can hold its own better than modern cars.
These crazy drivers took the snorkel-equipped Justy through brush, up hills, into water, and through some really tough obstacles, even getting it stuck on occasion. And while some of the terrain was too much for the off road wheels to handle, it still held its own better than quite a few other vehicles could have.
