At first glance on the showroom floor, the 2016 Hyundai Tuscon might not evoke ideas of customization and all-terrain performance, however the famous South California tuner, John Pangilian, has created a dual-purpose car for SEMA. Dubbed the “Adventuremobile”, the modified 2016 Hyundai Tuscon features everything from off road wheels and tires to a power boost and even tent with solar panels.

“Designed with the weekend adventurer in mind, the Tucson was the perfect platform for an ‘Adventuremobile,’” said John Pangilinan. “The build blends performance with the excitement of the great outdoors, without sacrificing daily usability. The vehicle promotes exploration, making it ideal for the daily commute, weekend excursions, and the occasional road trip.”

The Adventuremobile is the perfect vehicle for those that want to be able to escape the work week with a trip into the wilderness for camping. From the new off road wheels and tires on up, it’s built for fun and has a purpose. Atop the 2016 Hyundai Tuscon sits a Treeline Tamarack roof-top tent for two people with Goal Zero solar panels to power any accessories. New Rigid Industries LED lights blaze a trail at night while a Thule 47-inch aeroblade, Rapid Podium Foot Pack, and Fit Kit get the job done. The entire vehicle is covered in BASF army green paint provided by Strasse Sport.

Under the body panels sit a more performance-minded suspension and chassis. The factory rims were replaced with new off road wheels and tires in the form of Rays Gram Lights and Toyo Open Country A/T II tires with wide tread spacers and racing lug nuts. A custom suspension lift and Wilwood custom fabricated brake kit with army green calipers finishes off the transformation.

The engine also gains some power to drive the beefier off road wheels and tires. A new AEM intake and Charge pipe kit pairs up nicely with the Magnaflow exhaust to produce more power while Lucas Oil lubricates all the parts.

Inside, special Katzkin custom leather upholstery with special Seat Belt Planet custom army green belts. For utility, Truck Vault Storage with Trekpack System has been installed along with new USB chargers, connectivity, and lighting. A full audio system with new speakers, power distribution, amplifiers, and subwoofers was also added to complete the transformation.

The new 2016 Hyundai Tuscon “Adventuremobile” by John Pangilinan will be officially unveiled at the 2015 SEMA Show in Las Vegas on November 3rd at 11:30 am during the Hyundai press conference.
