Flyin’ around on Fuel Wheels.
The off-road segment has been growing as of late among automakers. Enthusiasts now have a range of choices for off-the-lot vehicles that are more than capable of handling themselves over rough terrain. The Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 is one of them, and this bad boy with Fuel Wheels is ready to plow through the tough stuff.
The Chevrolet Colorado is a mean machine in ZR2 guise. Not only does it get a beefier suspension starring Multimatic shocks, front and rear locking differentials, Autotrac transfer case, and tubular rockers for protection. There’s also a potent 3.6-liter naturally-aspirated V-6 pushing out 308 horsepower at 6,800 RPM and 275 lb-ft. of torque at 4,000 RPM driving all four Fuel Wheels, giving it more than enough power for hills and obstacles.
Visually, this Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 is also quite imposing thanks to its factory and aftermarket upgrades. New fender flares help to widen the truck by 90 mm from the factory while the GearOn utility rack and bars give it a more purposeful look. There’s also a utilitarian front bumper with integrated LED light bar and LED lights on the rooftop to light the way at night.
Beneath those flared fenders are a new set of Fuel Wheels. Here, the owner opted to install a new set of King Shocks paired with the factory ZR2 lift kit to make enough room for new Fuel Ripper – D589 rims. These Fuel Ripper – D589 rims measure a large 20 x 9.0 at the front and rear and are shod in meaty Fuel Gripper A/T tires that push through any kind of terrain. Each wheel also boasts a Matte Black finish with Gloss Black lips that plays well with the mix of Black finishes on the exterior.
You can bet that this custom Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 won’t be seeing a ton of pavement in the future – it’ll be making its own roads.
