Power and presence.
The Los Angeles Auto Show isn’t the biggest showcase of new and upcoming automobiles on calendars, but the team at Chrysler/Fiat didn’t seem to care. Here, Jeep unveiled two new special edition models, one of which was the 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT Night armed with a HEMI V-8, custom wheels, and special black features throughout.
The new Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT Night is designed to have a stealthy, dark and sinister appearance. The most powerful model in the Jeep lineup is not afraid to show off its muscles through its standard 6.4-liter HEMI V-8. The naturally-aspirated engine sends a total of 475 horsepower and 470 lb-ft. of torque to all four of the custom wheels.
This incredible output allows the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT Night to reach 60 mph from rest in a mere 4.8 seconds and the quarter-mile is completed in the mid-13-second range. The 0-100-0 mph test can be finished in just 16.3 seconds, while the top speed is 160 mph.
Visually, the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT Night is dark and sinister like its name suggests. The available Velvet Red, Billet Silver, and Granite Crystal paint options are paired up with an array of Gloss Black highlights from the custom wheels to the roof.
The roof and rear spoiler both feature a Gloss Black color that bleeds into the B- and C-pillars, and side window surrounds. The front grille bezels also wear the same color along with the lightweight, split-spoke 5Ten 20-inch rims. The custom wheels also showcase the bright red Brembo brakes. A softer Satin Black finish is used on the hood badge and rear tailgate.
Inside, the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT Night features a new Black Laguna leather cabin with Silver accent stitching. The dark theme is also continued with Light Black Chrome bezels. As an option, customers can choose the 19-speaker, 425-watt Harman Kardon stereo system, dual-pane sunroof, and rear entertainment system.
The new Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT Night will be available starting in the first quarter of 2016.
