Time to get jacked up!
With the Dakar Rally going in full force, we thought that we’d throw it back to a video showcasing a hydraulic jacking system that allows drivers to quickly change their off road wheels and tires because it’s pretty freaking awesome.
Even though the Dakar Rally is a lengthy endurance race, every second at every stage counts. So, when your racer’s off road wheels and tires become damaged, time is of the essence. The team at All German Motorsports showcased their special hydraulic jacking system built into the vehicle that allows for quick and easy off road wheels and tires to be changed without lots of drama.
Seen here in the video, the racing team is able to stop and activate the hydraulic jacking system to raise the ride height of their vehicle to a point that allows them to remove one of their off road wheels and tires. After swapping the new wheel in, they are able to bring the vehicle back to its normal ride height and speed away – in just 1:16.
In the Dakar Rally, every second matters.
