…and a world record to go with them!

Monster Trucks are the kings of the rough and tough world of trucks. They’re designed to essentially run over anything and everything in their paths as their massive off road wheels roll thunder across mud, dirt, gravel, asphalt, and other derelict cars. They’re fun to watch, but it’s really impressive and exciting to see them setting world records, like the Ram Truck-sponsored Raminator that was able to make its way into the Guinness World Records book at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas.

The Raminator has quite the impressive pedigree behind it, and was an easy choice when gunning for the “Fastest Speed for a Monster Truck” world record. Sponsored by the Ram Truck brand and wearing a set of hardcore off road wheels, the legendary Raminator set out in search of a new world record at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas.

Since 2002, Ram has sponsored Raminator and its sibling, Rammunition. This year also saw the introduction of a new member of the family, Mopar Muscle with a powerful look, off road wheels, and mean streak. Hall Brothers Racing Team from Champaign, Illinois own and operate the three Monster Trucks and have built quite an impressive resume. Raminator was named the 2014 Monster Truck Nationals Champion and has won the Monster Truck Racing Association’s (MTRA) “Truck of the Year” a record eight times. Mark Hall, driver of Raminator, has been named the MTRA “Driver of the Year” an outstanding nine times since 1996 while Crew Chief, Tim Hall was awarded the MTRA “Mechanic of the Year” five times since 2006.

It’s easy to see why Raminator and its team were the choice for the record attempt.

“Taking on the challenge of breaking a world record has been an experience we will never forget,” said Hall Brothers Racing President and Crew Chief Tim Hall. “With the support of Ram and Mopar, we continue to add to our achievements and are honored to now be a Guinness World Records holder.”

Armed with a potent engine, beefy off road wheels, and a skilled team, Raminator took to the track at the 3.4-mile track on December 15th at 8:44 am (CT) and was able to reach a top speed of 99.10 mph, verified by the Guinness World Records team, setting a new world record. The impressive run broke the previous record of 96.8 mph and adds another achievement to the long resume of Raminator and its team.

If it were up to us, we would’ve put those off road tires to good use after the run at the 1,000-acre Circuit of the Americas and had a bit of a fun-filled celebration with Raminator!

Congratulations Raminator, Ram Trucks, Tim Hall, and Mark Hall!
