Now that’s a good burnout!
We all love a good burnout. Burnout competitions are even better, and they best place to go see some rims and tires get shred into oblivion is Down Under. Australia knows how to show off some serious vehicular muscle and this Toyota Hilux is a perfect example.
You don’t normally see burnout competitions in the United States like the ones down in Australia, and these folks know how to do it right. This is a Toyota Hilux with a 4.0-liter supercharged V-6 engine that sends a healthy 302 horsepower to its rear rims and tires.
And that’s more than enough to have some serious fun. At this burnout competition, the rims and tires were warmed up and soaked with water as they spun into a cloud of smoke. The burnout lasted for over a minute and created a barrel of smoke that obscured the truck from the stands.
However, after the minute-plus-long burnout began to drag on, the rear rims and tires erupted in flames due to the sheer amount of heat generated by the rubber on the pavement. This, however, isn’t abnormal – just really cool to see. Thankfully the track staff was ready and on hand to put out the flames and prevent any damage or injury to the driver and passenger.
