Watch this Tesla Model X Tow an 18-Wheeler in the Snow!

Tesla Model X Towing

Putting those wheels and tires to the test!

The east coast of the United States got pounded by a winter storm recently. Even the southern states received unusually cold weather that left many areas crippled. Drivers had difficulty going anywhere, forcing many schools and public places to shut down as they tried to deal with the snow and ice.

Even 18-wheelers had trouble with the snow and ice coming down and blanketing the roads. Wheels and tires that are designed for warm weather and rain cannot get proper traction in the snow, resulting in a whole lot of going nowhere.

Tesla Model X Towing

Raleigh, North Carolina was one of the areas hit hard with winter weather with snow accumulating and crippling transportation in the city. One tractor trailer driver was stuck in the snow and could not move at all. Thankfully, a Tesla Model X owner came to the rescue with its electric motors powering all four wheels and tires.

The Model X is only rated at 5,000-lbs for towing, making this a rather incredible feat. It’s not clear as to what variant Model X is being used here, but power output ranges from 259 horsepower to 259 at the front and 509 horsepower for the rear wheels and tires, making for some very impressive acceleration.

However, the Tesla Model X is not known for its towing. This Model X, however, was able to pull the tractor trailer forward and get it out from being stuck, allowing it to get on its way.

Maybe electric is the way of the future…
