Welp, see you in the spring!
When the snow falls, it’s always fun to go out with your 4×4, all wheel drive, or all terrain vehicle and just have some fun. Snowmobiles, ATVs, trucks, and SUVs all make for some good times in the slippery white stuff, the latter putting their truck wheels to good use.
But with all that fun comes a responsibility for safety and this Toyota Land Cruiser shows us exactly why.
A few friends in Russia decided to go out and hoon their off road machines in the snow to start the season. The tracks of the snowmobiles and the truck wheels of the mighty Toyota Land Cruiser were made to have fun in tough terrain like this.
But there was one problem. The Land Cruiser driver wanted to show off by spinning their truck wheels and tires out in a frozen pond on the ice, and go sideways. After all, who doesn’t like some good ol’ fashioned snow drifting in an empty parking lot?
The ice, however, couldn’t handle the 5,000+ lb. SUV and down it went into the frozen waters. The friends quickly sprung into action and rushed over to help the driver escape from the sinking SUV. Soon after the Land Cruiser was almost completely submerged beneath the chilly waters.
Not too long after, the group got an excavator to extract the frozen SUV and its truck wheels from the water to the shore. Clearly the SUV won’t be up and running anytime soon with all the water damage, but we’re thankful nobody was hurt from the winter dip.
