Watch these Hooligans Shred their Car Rims in the Street!

LA Street Racers

That’s not safe.

Racing is fun. Burnouts are fun. Going to a car show is fun. Enjoying cars with your friends is fun. We get it. Racing and doing burnouts in the middle of an intersection and on public roads – no matter what time of day is not. It’s illegal and unsafe, so don’t be racing or shredding those car rims unless you’re on a track.

We’re serious. This is how people get killed or injured and how crashes happen. CBS Los Angeles got video and was on-scene after street racing incidents in Los Angeles in Arcadia and Pico Rivera. Witnesses say they heard screaming and tires screeching from spinning car rims at 1 a.m. outside of a bar. It took about eight to ten minutes for police to show, and when they did, everyone scattered and ran away.

Shortly after, the same shredding of car rims was going on in Pico Rivera. This spectacle, however, got way wilder than the previous. Here, participants shot fireworks and threw rocks and sticks at police as others ran away and sped off.

Police arrested two people after the incidents and thankfully nobody was injured.

We get the desire to race, do burnouts, and just shred the tires off your car rims. However, do it in a safe place and not on the street. There are way too many stories like this that end in tragedy.
