With racing, you want to be the lightest and most nimble no matter if you’re speeding on the asphalt or through rough terrain. That’s why the Red Bull Kamaz D4 Dakar Truck is sort of an anomaly – an awesome anomaly, that is. Made to compete in the Dakar Rally, this monster from Russia pounds the dirt with its massive truck wheels and spits out some serious smoke in an utterly brutal fashion.
The Red Bull Kamaz D4 Dakar Truck has racked up quite an impressive list of victories and podium finishes at off-road races around the globe. Just for kicks and to show off what this beast of a machine can do, it set down those massive truck wheels at the Goodwood Circuit for the Festival of Speed in 2016.
Although the course was soaked with rain, it made for perfect conditions at the international motor show and race as all four of those truck wheels were more than up to the task to slide sideways and churn through asphalt and grass.
At the 2016 Goodwood Festival of Speed, Ayrat Mardeev got behind the wheel of the Kamaz D4 Dakar and put all 900 horsepower to the big truck wheels, making that 10-ton machine move rather quickly. The best part is watching the vehicle slide sideways and eat up grass in the process while spitting out black smoke.
Don’t ever let anyone tell you that you can’t race something, kids!
