Watch the Lamborghini Urus show off its ‘Terra’ Mode!

Having some off-road fun!

Lamborghinis aren’t supposed to go off-road or be SUVs. The last Lamborghini SUV was the LM002, and while it was no doubt impressive during its run with its V-12 engine and truck wheels, the Lamborghini name has been synonymous with road-going high-performance cars. Now, that’s changing with the upcoming Urus.

Based on the same platform that has been used by the Porsche Cayenne, Bentley Bentayga, Volkswagen Touareg, and others, the new Lamborghini Urus is expected to be the pinnacle of performance in the SUV marketplace both on and off the road with its truck wheels, advanced tech, suspension, and engine.

The upcoming Lamborghini Urus is expected to look unlike any other SUV on the market and incorporate Lamborghini’s exotic, sharp-angled styling. For now, however, we’re left with camouflaged prototypes running around on videos like this one – and that’s not a bad thing.

Here, Lamborghini is showing off the SUV’s ‘Terra’ driving mode that’s designed for high-performance off-road driving. The mode optimizes power delivery for all four truck wheels and tires in order to achieve maximum traction in less than ideal grip conditions. As you can see, it can make the SUV quite a bit of fun when there’s no pavement around.

Another highlight will be the twin-turbocharged V-8 engine used to power all four truck wheels in the Lamborghini Urus. The force-fed motor will produce over 650 horsepower, which should be more than enough to propel the exotic SUV to triple-digit speeds with ease.

Now, just image that off-road!
