We all know that the Jeep Wrangler is more than capable of handling its own on the tough off road trails right out of the box. But heavily modified ones like this Starwood Motors built “Full Metal Jacket” Jeep Wrangler sporting a set of new XD Wheels is oh so fun and exciting to drive through anything. Almost everything from the suspension and exterior to the interior has been built and modified for all-terrain duty and it packs quite a bit of adrenaline.
Right off the bat, the Full Metal Jacket Jeep Wrangler grabs attention with its purposeful exterior. Smittybult Stinger front and rear bumpers pair up with the XRC body armor that comes in the form of front fenders, rear corner guards, and rock guards. A Warn-Zeon 10,000-lb winch with 94’ Kevlar/nylon braided rope ensure that the Jeep can pull its less-equipped friends out of any sticky situation. The entire body was also covered in a tough gloss black Kevlar liner while new 22-inch XD Wheels with 40/15.5/22 Nitto Mud Grappler tires claw at anything that dares lie in its path. A Genright rear JK tire carrier ensures that there’s always extra rubber on hand in case one of the XD Bomb wheels’ tire suffers a puncture.
The beefy new XD Wheels and their Nitto Mud Grappler tires also benefit from the addition of a very capable suspension. Curry G2 Rock Jock Dana 50 front and rear high-pinion big nearing axle assemblies, the latter with air locker differentials help to properly distribute power to all four of the XD Bomb rims. A full Rubicon Express long arm suspension system works with the new Synergy Suspension front shocks, coilovers, custom shock towers, and rear extended shock/coilover mount kit to provide additional vertical travel for the XD Wheels and a higher ground clearance than the factory setup.
Inside, the Full Metal Jacket Jeep Wrangler might be a bit dirty from its off-road adventures, but it’s built to perform. New Procar seats with black leather and alcantara inserts hold drivers and passengers while a full entertainment and sound system provides more than enough entertainment. Kevlar-lined floors, an under-seat lock box, and two one-pound dry chemical fire extinguishers finish things off.
Topping it all off is a full lighting system from top-to-bottom. The Full Metal Jacket Jeep wears a 50- and 10-inch Rigid Industries LED light bar and front light bar, respectively, with two LED side firewall-mounted lights, JW Speaker LED headlights, and Poison Spyder billet aluminum mount brackets to hold it all together and light the trail ahead.
All those modifications from the new XD Wheels to the LED lighting sounds like a blast, but it isn’t until the Full Metal Jacket Jeep Wrangler is out in the sand dunes, flying through the air that it really puts a smile on your face.
