Taking the truck to a new level of customization.
The new Chevrolet Colorado got off to a very fast start when it first hit dealership lots. In the first six months of 2015, sales totaled 41,575 units, outselling competitors like the Nissan Frontier by almost 20-percent. Now, Chevrolet is making the truck even more appealing to those looking for a more customized design package. The new Chevy Colorado Midnight Edition and Z71 Trail Boss have everything from custom wheels to unique modifications that set them apart from the pack.
“These are aggressive editions of one of the country’s hottest-selling truck, demonstrating the personalization that’s possible with Chevrolet accessories, whether it’s for the street, trail or both,” said Tony Johnson, Colorado marketing manager. “As the Colorado continues to win over new customers, the new Midnight Edition and Z71 Trail Boss give them more choices and build on segment-leading capabilities and efficiency.”
The new Chevrolet Colorado Midnight Edition takes after the dark-themed Silverado Midnight Edition model that was also quite popular. Black is the paint shade of choice and adorns much of the exterior such as the grille, bowtie emblems, and more. Even, the 18-inch custom wheels made from aluminum alloy are finished in black. Other goodies that come standard include a folding tonneau cover, sill plates bearing the Chevrolet logos, and a spray-on bedliner.
Its sibling, the Colorado Z71 Trail Boss is for those looking to have some off road fun. The truck utilizes the same all-terrain suspension featured in the Chevrolet Z71 truck package along with a set of black-finished 17-inch custom wheels wearing 265/65 R17 Goodyear Wrangler DuraTec tires that rip up the terrain for better grip. These new custom wheels sit beneath larger fender flares while tubular side steps are positioned between for help entering and exiting the truck.
Additionally, the Colorado Z71 wears a sport bar with LED trail lighting, a spray-on bedliner, and all-weather floor mats for easy cleaning.
Both the Chevrolet Colorado Midnight Edition and Z71 Trail Boss models are available in the extended and crew cab models with two- or four-wheel drive and all three engine choices. Pricing has not been released.
