Good ol’ American muscle.

It only seems like yesterday that Pontiacs were rolling down the streets and the next model was due up from the American brand. That all came to an end with the automotive industry crisis in 2009 forced General Motors to cut the brand. One of the last great models was the G8 – a rear-wheel drive muscle sedan. Although it may be extinct, many still live on such as this bad boy with a new set of TSW Wheels.

What made the Pontiac G8 so special was that it was a classic muscle sedan. It was the type of vehicle that put a smile on our face while knowing that it had enough room for the family, decades ago. It was simple: a big engine up front driving the rear wheels with an available manual gearbox and sharpened suspension. It quickly became a fun sports sedan for those that want to enjoy driving until it was finally cut with the Pontiac brand. This G8 GT with TSW Wheels however, keeps rolling onwards.

The standard V-6 engine grows to a 6.0-liter V-8 sending a whopping 361 horsepower to each of the rear TSW Wheels in the GT variant. That’s good for a 0-60 mph time in the 5.3-second race and a 13.8-second quarter-mile time.

This Pontiac G8 GT isn’t your average sports sedan either. A new set of TSW Nurburgring wheels were installed in a 20 x 8.5 front and 20 x 9.5 rear setup, tipping the scales at just 23- and 24.7 lbs., respectively. The TSW Wheels are also shod in 255/35/20 and 285/30/20 Nitto Invo performance tires as well to help control that high-output engine.

The powerful character of the G8 GT is also shown through a few other simple but effective upgrades. New DBA 4000 slotted rotors with Hawk ceramic brake pads ensure proper cooling and stopping power. A Corsa cat-back exhaust system protrudes from the newly=installed G8 GXP diffuser while all of the badges have been removed.

The loss of the Pontiac G8 and the brand as a whole was sad to see, but it still lives on thanks to cars like this.
