Dubbin’ down low.
One of the most popular hot hatches in the world has been the Volkswagen Golf GTI – and for good reason. The GTI has served up fun, power, performance, and excitement in a small but capable car with a relatively low price tag. This MkIV Volkswagen GTI has all the turbo fun you could want with the bagged styling you need and a fresh set of Niche Wheels.
The fourth-generation Volkswagen Golf GTI is packed with some serious fun. When it was sold, customers could choose from a 2.8-liter VR6 or a turbocharged 1.8-liter inline-four cylinder engine. This bad boy is packed with the turbo-four spitting out more than the factory 177 bhp at 5,500 RPM and 173 lb-ft. of torque from 1,950 to 4,700 RPM to the front Niche Wheels thanks to a few upgrades.
Like most Volkswagen enthusiasts and fans of the MkIV-generation of Golf/GTI/Jetta/GLI models, this bad boy is slammed and sits. The new Niche Wheels are tucked neatly beneath the fenders thanks to a new set of Koni Coilovers. A set of H&R anti-roll bars cut down on body roll and sharpen up handling even further.
For this fitment, the factory wheels were swapped out for a new set of Niche Verona – M150 rims. These seven-spoke, concave rims have a clean look and step lip that fits the GTI perfectly. The new Niche Wheels wear a brilliant Black with Machined and Dark Tint finish that matches the monochromatic color scheme of the hot hatch well. At the front and the rear, the new Niche Verona – M150 rims measure a stout 18 x 9.5 and are shod in stretched 255/40-18 tires for a truly custom look.
The MKIV-generation Volkswagen Golf GTI may be old news to some, but this bad boy is still turning heads years after it rolled off the assembly line.
