Throw it back to ’66 with the new Jeep Jeepster concept!

Jeep Jeepster Concept

Tying in Jeep Performance Parts with concept goodies.

Get ready to be inspired by a retro off-roader that is more than capably of putting its truck rims through whatever kind of terrain that driver’s desire. The new Jeep Jeepster concept made its debut at the 52nd annual Easter Jeep Safari in Moab, Utah, and it mixed a good portion of currently-available Jeep Performance Parts with an array of new concept parts to create an old-school inspired SUV.

“When it comes to customization, no vehicle can match the Jeep Wrangler,” said Pietro Gorlier, Head of Parts and Service (Mopar), FCA. “This is why we worked very closely with the Jeep brand to develop an exclusive line of more than 200 parts and accessories to enhance – even more – Jeep Wrangler’s off-road capability to fit any customer’s lifestyle. Almost all Wrangler vehicles sold are fitted with at least one Mopar accessory, and you see this perfect combination between vehicle and accessories come to life every year at the Easter Jeep Safari.”

The new Jeep Jeepster concept is based on the new 2018 Wrangler Rubicon and pays homage to the original 1966 Jeepster with its two-tone Firecracker Red body and Bright White accents. The latter covers the hardtop that’s been chopped by 2.0 inches and the custom fold-out windshield that’s been raked back 2.5-degrees. Even the upper door tops wear a Bright White color along with the fenders that make room for the massive truck rims and tires. There’s also a tri-colored Jeepster hard badge in place of the factory badging.

There’s also an array of Jeep Performance Parts featured on this SUV that are currently available to customers. A new Rubicon steel bumper stares ahead with factory LED fog lights while a new JPP hood and graphic without the cold air intake and snorkel fixture. New 5.0- and 7.0-inch LED lights are mounted on A-pillar brackets to shine up to 8,000 limens as those truck rims pound through the trails at night.

The real meat and potatoes on the Jeep Jeepster concept sit beneath the body. Here, a new 2.0-inch lift kit is combined with a set of 2.5-inch diameter body shocks. These work alongside new beadlock-capable 17 inch truck rims finished in Firecreacker Red beadlock trim rings. Massive 27-inch BFGoodrick KO2 tires make mincemeat of any kind of terrain that sits in front. The space 38-inch wheel and tire is also stored inside the cabin thanks to a new tire carrier.

Inside the Jeep Jeepster concept, passengers benefit from Black Katzkin leather seats with Rubicon Red Jeep grille logos on the seatbacks and Rubicon Red accents on the side bolsters. Jeep even made the instrument panel inserts Firecracker Red to match. There’s also new concept storage packs at the rear for easier transportation of equipment along with a concept rock step along each side.

The new Jeep Jeepster concept won’t be entering production anytime soon, however owners of the 2018 Wrangler can use it as inspiration with the wide range of Jeep Performance Parts showcased on the SUV.
