Just enough to have some fun.

Oftentimes with trucks, enthusiasts (especially off road enthusiasts) will dump a boatload of time, money, and effort into their vehicles in order to custom-tune everything from top-to-bottom in the name of off road performance. Sometimes, all you need is a good set of Fuel Wheels, better tires, and a few other goodies to have fun. This Ingot Silver 2014 Ford F-150 XLT is the perfect example.

This Ford F-150 might not instantly jump out on the streets in the same way that other, more hardcore off roaders do, but it still sets itself apart from others through some basic but effective upgrades inside and out. The standard 5.0-liter, naturally-aspirated V-8 engine sends 360 horsepower at 5,500 RPM and 380 lb-ft. of torque at 4,350 RPM to both of the rear Fuel Wheels for more than enough power to tow, haul, and get the job done. That’s more than enough power to move forward with, so the owner decided to focus on the visual things.

The factory chassis provides quite a bit of capability on the Ford F-150, so the lone suspension modification came in the form of a Rough Country front leveling kit that brings up the front axle by 2.5 inches. The factory rim and tire setup was removed in place of a new set of Fuel Wheels. Here, the Fuel Maverick model rims were installed in a large 20 x 9.0 setup with a +20 offset. Each of the Fuel Wheels sports a black milled finish to further accentuate the customized chassis. New Nitto Trail Grappler tires measuring 295/60/20 were also installed and are beefy enough to handle any kind of terrain that sits in their paths.

After the chassis was settled, the other upgrades started to steam in on the F-150. A new Lund Genesis Rollup Tonneau cover, Leonard Drop-In liner and rubber bed mat were installed on the exterior for hauling. Inside a new set of WeatherTech floor mats keeps things clean while a Kicker Soundgate VSS stereo system blasts out the tunes.

It’s not an all-out off road conversion, but this Ford F-150 has all the right stuff in all the right places.
