Who’s ready to hit the trails?
Flying under the radar in the American truck game is the Toyota Tundra. It may not have the same heritage as the F-150, Silverado, or RAM, but it certainly stacks up well in terms of performance and capability. It stacks up well against the competition but just doesn’t have the same sales numbers. This Toyota Tundra shows just what kind of potential the truck has as it tackles the trails with its new Fuel Wheels, suspension upgrades, body work, and more.
This Toyota Tundra comes packing a healthy dose of power right from the Texas-based factory. Under the hood, there’s a 5.7-liter, naturally-aspirated V-8 engine that produces 381 horsepower and 401 lb-ft. of torque for the rear Fuel Wheels to consume. There’s also an optional OEM TRD supercharger available that can push output tom 504 horsepower and 550 lb-ft. of torque, good enough for a 13.3-second quarter-mile acceleration time at 103.8 mph.
This Toyota Tundra doesn’t have the supercharger, but it has all sorts of goodies to have fun with. There’s a new front and rear bumper with the former including a winch, tow hooks, and LED lighting. New bolt-on fender flares help give an extra layer of protection to the beefy tires and Fuel Wheels hiding beneath. There’s also new guards along each side to protect the body while off-roading.
Helping this Toyota Tundra power through any obstacles is a new set of Fuel Vector – D579 rims. These multi-spoke rims measure a hefty 20 x 9.0 and are shod in meaty off-road tires that help generate traction in any situation. These new Fuel Wheels also sport a Matte Black finish that serves up just the right amount of contrast to the factory body color and matches the new fenders and front bumper.
The Toyota Tundra may not be the biggest name in the truck game, but you can bet that this one is going to be getting a lot of attention.
