Hyundai is going all-out with their new batch of vehicles for SEMA, one of which is the 2016 Tuscon. The team at Rockstar Performance Garage (RPG) has teamed up with Hyundai for their new Tucson model for SEMA in November and it’s ready for the trails. The new crossover sports new XD Wheels, a beefy suspension, engine performance mods, and lots of visual highlights.
“The focus behind this build was to create an off-roader that nobody expected,” said Nic Ashby, owner and general partner, Rockstar Performance Garage. “The Tucson was a great starting platform with its rigid frame and plenty of room in the engine bay for modifications. With the complete suspension overhaul and blacked-out appearance, this Tucson is guaranteed to be a head turner in line with the Rockstar lifestyle.”
The RPG Hyundai Tucson wears a new black and yellow color scheme paired with smoked rear taillights. A new, custom Bulldog LED Lighting light bar sits on the roof and can light the path ahead at night. New custom bumpers designed to handle the rugged terrain were added as well as extended front and rear fenders that house the new XD Wheels and suspension setup.
Under the black hood sits a more potent version of the 1.6-liter Hyundai 1.6-liter “Gamma” turbocharged inline-four cylinder engine. All four XD Wheels get more power thanks to a new Magnaflow exhaust kit, larger turbo piping, a K&N intake, and Mishimoto intercooler. All the extra ponies are sent through a six-speed DCT gearbox.
Beneath all of the purposeful exterior upgrades sits a mean and capable chassis. Here, new XD Wheels and a muscular suspension ensure that the RPG Hyundai Tucson can go anywhere. Hitting the dirt are new KMC XD Bully off road wheels measuring 17-inches in diameter with 32-inch Mickey Thompson MTZ P3 tires. New King Shocks 2.5-inch adjustable strut coilovers up front and 2.5-inch shocks with remote reservoirs and progressive off road springs at the rear ensure better clearance and performance.
The new 2016 Hyundai Tucson RPG will be unveiled at the SEMA Show on November 3rd.
