Who said the Bangle BMWs couldn’t look good?
One of the most polarizing times for BMW models in terms of styling was when Chris Bangle was the Chief of Design at BMW Group. Many consider his designs to be forward-thinking and innovative, while others consider them to be some of the ugliest abomonations on the road. Whatever opinion is generated by the E63 BMW M6 can be thrown out the window after it has been fitted with a new set of BBS wheels and some other go-fast goodies.
This featured E63-generation BMW M6 Coupe is the quintessential performance grand touring coupe and its new BBS LM wheels make it even more spectacular, especially when paired up with a healthy list of modifications.
The era for large-displacement engines is coming to an end, but one of BMW’s last hoorahs was with the E63/64-generation M6 models and their 5.0-liter V-10 engine. This BMW M6 was outfitted with Supersprint headers and full exhaust to let the unholy sounds of the naturally-aspirated V-10 reverberate on the road. The 500+ horsepower engine also benefits from a set of Evo pulleys that helps send a few extra ponies to the rear BBS wheels.
The new bodywork is only the beginning in terms of styling for the BMW M6. Up front sits a Hamann Motorsport front bumper with integrated tinted fog lights for a more aggressive and clean look. At the rear of the coupe sits a Hamann Motorsport rear spoiler that helps to generate downforce at high speeds for better stability.
The chassis is where this BMW M6 really shines. A new set of BBS wheels were installed with performance tires and the suspension was lowered to create the perfect stance. BBS LM wheels were installed in a wide 20 x 9.0 and 20 x 10.5 setup at the front and rear with BMW center caps for a clean, OEM appearance. Up front, the BBS LM wheels were shod in 245/35/20 tires while the rears were given a pair of sticky 285/30/20s. Lowering the center of gravity is a set of dynamic H&R springs.
Inside, the BMW M6 was outfitted with a few OEM options that add to the driving experience. The pedals were color matched with the SMG gearshifter using OEM parts to improve feel and style inside the cabin for the driver.
A set of BBS LM wheels will make you forget about that ‘Bangle Butt’ every time.
