Spin Those Dodge Charger Wheels with the new SRT Hellcat!

Dodge continues to raise all kinds of hell.

It was only a short time ago that Dodge was making waves in the automotive world with their new Challenger SRT Hellcat that put it at the top of the muscle car food chain. Its 707 horsepower supercharged V-8 engine was the most powerful Chrysler had ever stuffed into a production car. Now, that same evil formula for performance has found its way into the four-door cousin of the Challenger. Instead of a big, naturally aspirated HEMI V-8 spinning some Dodge Charger wheels, a 707 horsepower supercharged V-8 is spinning the super sedans custom rear wheels with ease.

Dodge instantly one-upped every single performance sedan in the world by making the most powerful and fastest sedan in the world with the new Charger SRT Hellcat. The American power gods bestowed the same 6.2-liter supercharged V-8 engine found in the Challenger SRT Hellcat to make a super sedan that can kick the crap out of the competition and roast its rear Dodge Charger wheels with a blip of the throttle.

“For the last eight years, a large part of the Dodge Charger’s successful formula has been its many personalities. It’s a muscle car, a performance sedan, a family capable sedan; its success is that it can be any or all of those things, depending on how the customer chooses to equip their car,” said Tim Kuniskis, President and CEO — Dodge and SRT Brands. “And now, with a NHRA-certified quarter mile time of 11.0 seconds and a 204 mph top speed, the new 2015 Dodge Charger Hellcat redefines itself again, as the quickest, fastest, most powerful sedan in the world!”

The supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 HEMI engine has all the goodies like a forged steel crankshaft and alloy pistons, powder-forged connecting rods, diamond-like-carbon-coated piston pins, and the classic orange die-cast aluminum rocker covers. As the supercharger winds and screams at speed, the engine sends a total of 707 horsepower and 650 lb-ft. of torque to each of the rear Dodge Charger wheels that can easily erupt in smoke if the driver desires.

All of this power is sent to the rear custom wheels through a reinforced TorqueFlite 8HP90 eight-speed automatic gearbox that performs shifts in just 190 milliseconds. Drivers can choose to change gears manually though the T-handle or by using the steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters. New driving modes help drivers alter the car’s dynamics while a special valet key and system can restrict power. With the magic red key fob, all 707 horsepower is unleashed on the rear Dodge Charger wheels and the sedan speeds to a maximum of 204 mph, making it the fastest sedan in the world.

Attempting to control all of that power is no easy task, but new custom wheels and Brembo brakes are up to the task. The new rim and tire setup measures 9.5 x 20 and comes in matte black or Brass Money/dark bronze for finishes with Pirelli P Zero Nero tires clawing at the pavement. Behind those wheels sit massive 390 mm Brembo brakes with two-piece, six-piston calipers clenching down on them.
