For years, the Porsche 911 Turbo has reigned king of the model line as the pinnacle of performance. While the 911 GT3 (RS) and 911 GT2 (RS) have come and gone as the crazy track tuned versions, the 911 Turbo has always been the one for extreme speed and power in an everyday package. This 2007 Porsche 911 Turbo (997.1) is no different and wears a new set of Niche Wheels to keep it a modern day monster.
The 991 generation of Porsche 911 is here and it’s offering up the latest technology, most power, and best performance ever from the model line. This 2007 Porsche 911 Turbo might be two generations removed from the current day model, but that doesn’t mean that it’s old, outdated, and boring, especially with its new Niche Wheels.
Powering this Porsche 911 Turbo is a 3.6-liter flat-six engine sporting two turbochargers that feed plenty of boost pressure into each cylinder to create insane amounts of power. A total of 473 horsepower at 6,000 RPM and 457 lb-ft. from 1,950 to 5,000 RPM (502 lb-ft. in overboost from 2,100 to 4,000 RPM) is sent to all four of the Niche Wheels thanks to the advanced all wheel drive system, leading to some pretty incredible acceleration. The sprint to 60 mph takes just about 3.4 seconds to complete while top speed sits back at 193 mph.
For this 2007 Porsche 911 Turbo, a new set of Niche Wheels were added to show that it can still hang with the latest and greatest super cars of today. The wheel of choice was the Niche Alpine-D T87 Monotec made from forged 6061-T6 aluminum alloy that is incredibly strong yet lighter than a standard set of cast wheels.
The fitment here sees the Niche Alpine-D T87 rims installed in a 20 x 8.5 front pair while the rear comes in at 20 x 12.0. Each wheel sports a smooth Candy Black finish with gloss black tint powder coat sitting atop a high-luster polish for a smooth and glossy shine. For maximum traction, 225/25 ZR20 and 305/30 ZR20 Nitto tires were also installed.
