There’s nothing more American than a baseball game. Cheering on your favorite team and eating hot dogs, peanuts, and Cracker Jacks while watching the nation’s pastime is a special experience to enjoy with friends and family. This year’s MLB All-Star Game saw Mike Trout put on quite the show and win a new Chevrolet Silverado Midnight Edition with custom wheels for his performance on the diamond.
“Mike’s on-field performance was All-Star caliber and worthy of one of Chevrolet’s All-Stars,” said Brian Sweeney, U.S. vice president, Chevrolet, which has been the Official Vehicle of Major League Baseball® since 2005. “Chevrolet also encourages future All-Stars through our more than 1,500 dealers who support Chevy Youth Baseball.”
In the 2014 MLB All-Star Game, Trout’s performance won him the game’s MVP award – an award which also came with a brand new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray with custom wheels and all sorts of goodies. His 2015 performance dazzled as well. In the fourth pitch of the game, Trout knocked a homer into the stands and scored another run later in the game, helping to lead the American League to a 6-3 win over the National League.
Trout, who has now won consecutive MLB All-Star Game MVP awards was given the choice of a new Chevrolet Silverado Midnight Edition and a new sixth-generation Camaro Convertible – he chose the truck and its black custom wheels.
The Chevrolet Silverado Midnight Edition that Trout chose has all the black-themed goodies that are available to customers at dealerships around the country. The black Z71 model features an all-black front fascia with body-matching grille color, bumper, headlights, fog lights, and tow hooks. Black also adorns the new 18-inch custom wheels, side and beltline mouldings, and front and rear bowtie badges. Unique Z71 badges on the doors also help to differentiate the truck from the standard models.
Chevrolet’s commitment to baseball and children around the country is seen in their Chevy Youth Baseball program. The program has helped to raise over $18 million for local teams, fund clinics, and give 5.2 million kids the opportunity to play America’s pastime.
