Dodge has never shied away from its heritage and its muscle cars, nor should it. Their bread and butter machines can trace their roots back to the days when American muscle ruled the road. After a successful run of their heritage inspired paint colors, they’re bringing back the Go Mango color for customers that can be worn with contrasting car rims.
“Powerful performance cars like our Dodge Charger and Challenger demand high-impact colors,” said Tim Kuniskis, Head of Passenger Car Brands – Dodge, SRT, Chrysler and FIAT, FCA – North America. “Dodge muscle cars have a long history of unique paint colors with iconic names, and we’ll continue to reach back into our paint code archive to give our enthusiast customers what they want.”
And Go Mango is just what the customer ordered at the 11th annual Spring Festival in Irvine, CA, where Dodge unveiled the new paint color for select Charger and Challenger models. Matched up with a set of contrasting black or gunmetal finished car rims, these muscle cars are ready to bring the pain.
The special Go Mango color dates back to 1970 when it was first used on the iconic Challenger. In 2006, the color made a return with the Charger R/T Daytona and wasn’t used again until the 2016 Dodge Dart offered it as an option. The Go Mango paint is made using both red and orange colors to create a visually-stimulating and powerful aesthetic.
The new Go Mango paint will be available immediately for 2016 Dodge Challenger SRT 392 and SRT Hellcat models as well as Charger SRT 392 and SRT Hellcat models. Each of the SRT 392 models can produce 485 horsepower and 475 lb-ft. of torque, sending it to each of the rear car rims. The SRT Hellcat models unleash even more havoc on their rear tires by putting down a whopping 707 horsepower and 650 lb-ft. of torque.
The new Go Mango paint is currently available for ordering for Dodge Challenger and Charger customers around the United States with a range of contrasting car rims.
