High-tech fun and off road performance.
When it was first unveiled, the Ford Raptor was a beast of a truck packed with all sorts of off road upgrades borrowed from Baja racers and a mean V-8 powertrain. The new-generation Ford F-150 Raptor is a bit different. It’s more efficient, has better tech, and is quite a bit quicker. Plus, it looks great with a set of Fuel Wheels.
New things can be found under the hood of the F-150 Raptor. In place of the naturally-aspirated 6.2-liter V-8 engine is a beefed up 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine generating 450 horsepower at 5,000 RPM and 510 lb-ft. of torque at 3,500 RPM. That power is sent through a specially-tuned 10-speed automatic gearbox to the Fuel Wheels with gearing and software designed for quick changes that take full advantage of the motor’s power band.
The suspension of the Ford F-150 Raptor has been engineered and tested thanks to the trucks backed by the factory racing team enters in the Baja competitions. This makes for some pretty capable performance over rough terrain as the Fuel Wheels and meaty tires get pushed to their limits.
On this monster of a truck, new Fuel Wheels were installed to give it an even more commanding presence. Here, new Fuel Sledge – D596 rims were installed in a 20-inch diameter with a gloss black finish that perfectly contrasts the white body. These Sledge – D596 rims also sport a set of Fuel Gripper tires for maximum off road traction as well.
The new Ford F-150 Raptor might have lost some of its raw feeling, but it’s still a mean machine with its Fuel Sledge – D596 rims.
