Time to tackle the snow and ice.
Winter is here and although El Niño is serving up all sorts of odd weather patterns around the United States, the snow and ice will be hitting the pavement soon. With that in mind, MOPAR is letting customers gear up with new winter rims and tires for their vehicles to make driving in the harsher weather a bit easier.
“Mopar is rolling out our first-ever offering of winter wheel assemblies for those customers who desire a little extra control during the cold weather seasons,” said Pietro Gorlier, Head of Parts and Service (Mopar), FCA – Global. “The assemblies arrive ready to install and deliver additional peace of mind, even in areas unaffected by the harshest winter weather.”
The FCA United States vehicles that will be offered the new winter rims and tires will include the Dodge Caravan, Dodge Charger (AWD and RWD), Chrysler Town & Country, Chrysler 300 (AWD and RWD), Chrysler 200, and Jeep Cherokee. More models will be given the optional MOPAR winter rims and tires next year as well.
Pricing for the MOPAR winter rims and tires will start at $242 and go up to $292 per wheel depending on the vehicle. Each wheel comes with a winter tire, steel rim, and tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and are mounted and balanced prior to delivery. This allows a quick and easy installation.
With the snow and ice approaching, it is always a good idea to have wheels and tires that are suited for the weather, even with four-wheel and all-wheel drive vehicles. The different tread patterns of the tires enable greater amounts of grip to be achieved compared to all-season and summer tires. This helps to prevent accidents and improve overall vehicle and passenger safety.
