Get those Truck Rims some Air with this 120-Foot Jump!

BJ Baldwin Sand Car Jump

Playing in the sand dunes.

Sand cars are pretty freaking cool. These vehicles are built from the truck rims on up to blaze through sand dunes as fast as possible while protecting drivers and passengers. With them, you can do some pretty crazy stunts, and this short video shows just how nuts they can get with the proper driver and setting.

BJ Baldwin knows a thing or two about going airborne and jumping all kinds of vehicles. In fact, he does it to make a living with a set of truck rims. So, he was the perfect candidate to try this insane stunt with a sand car in the Pismo Beach sand dunes.

This sand car has been strapped to the gills with purpose-built equipment designed for maximum fun in the sand. There’s a monster Kolby V-8 engine driving the truck rims, King Shocks, and much more making this beast of a sand car go nuts.

Faced with a huge dune and a capable vehicle, BJ Baldwin grew a set of cajones bigger than any of us, and flew up the sand dune, getting some serious air. Baldwin got at least 120 feet worth of air before those truck rims touched the ground, astonishing everyone around, including himself (maybe).

Don’t try that at home, kids.
